Debra Jo Rupp and Kurtwood Smith, back together again!

Nate Bargatze fans and That ’70s Show fans are both having a good day. Deadline reports that Debra Jo Rupp has been cast to play the comedian’s mom in his ABC pilot based on his real life, and she joins Kurtwood Smith, who will play Bargatze’s dad. Yes, Red and Kitty Forman will be united in TV matrimony once again. The potential series will follow fictional Bargatze as he makes the same big life choice as real-life Bargatze: packing up his life in California and moving with his wife (played by Katie Aselton) and young daughter to his childhood home of Nashville, Tennessee. Drew Goddard will direct the pilot, and the writers attached to the project include the star, executive producer Jerrod Carmichael, Carmichael Show co-creator Ari Katcher, and Bargatze’s writing partner, Dan Shaki. Danielle Sanchez-Witzel will serve as showrunner, and everyone can just follow Red and Kitty’s lead.
